The biggest SonicBirth update in years — new plugin format, cleaner audio, new elements, and a profiler to squeeze every bit of performance out of your circuits.
Export your circuits as VST3 plugins alongside VST2 and Audio Unit. All parameters are automatable, MIDI and side chain inputs are supported, and your custom GUI travels with the plugin. Works in every major modern DAW.
Saw, square, and triangle waves now use 4th-order PolyBLEP anti-aliasing combined with 2× oversampling. The result is noticeably less aliasing, especially at high pitches or lower sample rates.
Two new generation modes join the standard random: Drunk walk wanders within ±1 boundaries step by step; Markov jumps between discrete states with controllable range and directional bias.
A floating panel showing CPU time per element, with A/B snapshot comparison. Find bottlenecks, compare optimizations, and drill into sub-circuits — all in real time.
New functions: comparison operators, logical and/or/not, sign, clamp, and six conditional selects (ifeq, ifgt, etc.) for signal-dependent routing directly in equations.
All noise and random elements now use the xoshiro256++ generator — a vastly longer period, cleaner statistical properties, and fully independent state per element so multiple noise sources never correlate.
SonicBirth is a Mac application that lets you build audio processing circuits by wiring together elements — oscillators, filters, envelopes, math operations, and more — and export them as ready-to-use plugins for your DAW.
Connect elements with wires in a familiar circuit-style interface. What you build is what you hear.
Every circuit can be exported as a standard macOS Audio Unit, a VST2, or a new VST3 plugin, installed and ready for any DAW.
The interface you design in SonicBirth becomes the plugin's own GUI — knobs, sliders, displays, and all.
Write math expressions directly — arithmetic, trigonometry, comparisons, conditional selects — for operations that don't have a dedicated element.
Group circuits into reusable sub-circuits to keep complex patches organized and build up libraries of components.
